The Lace Reader

It would be great to post comments as we read, since we haven't finished the book. So far I find the story unusual. I think the author has an interesting style. Sometimes I feel like I am reading great literature, other times it's ok. I thought the beginning was confusing and had to read the first three chapters three times!
